Back2Basics Netball rules provide clear guidance on player eligibility, court setup, interchanges, and conduct. They are designed to maintain fair play, safety, and a positive experience for all participants.
Netball Rules
- All players must be over 18 years old
- No jewellery, sports watches or bracelets can be worn on the field which includes wedding rings
- No long nails will be permitted and will be checked by Netball manager before games; nails if long need to be taped
- Only 1 professional player allowed per team - Professional player is anyone that is paid or sponsored to play netball in any format
- All teams will be divided into pools with a round robin format, if required more than one venue could be utilised to cater for all registered teams
- No intoxicated players will be allowed on the court
- All players must wear bibs identifying their court position (provided)
- 7 players allowed on a court
- A maximum of 3 interchange players is permitted, and interchange needs to occur during intervals
Disciplinary Action
- Any player guilty of fighting or retaliation of any form will be suspended for a minimum of 3 games
- Any player guilty of chirping referees or bringing the game into disrepute will be suspended for a minimum of 5 games
- Teams who continue to break the rules and accumulate too many infringements will have points deducted or be banned from the event
- All suspensions and bans from other clubs will also count at this event
- Teams will be punished for their fan’s misbehaviour either by points deduction or a total ban on their fans
- Players who are banned will also be banned from attending the festival and all its activities and its affiliates
